Christmas Message 2025

As we close the calendar year of 2025, we look back to see if we had
made improvements in the lives we touched, made life easier, have we made our community a better place?
Not only do we work to better our communities and our neighbors, we strive to continue being the right
arm of the church, and reinforce our catholic faith in ourselves and our family. Yes by doing
this, we reinforce "Charity in our community by bringing our family into the acts of our faith.
In 2025, we were very active and thanks to all the brothers in council 3544, we succeeded once again.

I am thankful to all that helped the council win the 2 star council award for 2024/2025.
Yes, this is the first time we have achieved a double star and we continue to build off of the
first star council award. With everyones help, we can continue
to be successful and continue being a STAR council.
A joyous time is fast approaching and I am certain all are busy preparing. Gifts are being purchased and wrapped,
cards are being signed and addressed, the house is being decorated, the baking of cookies is probably in full force,
yes all the hustle and bustle of the season is upon us. But let us not forget that before Christmas comes Advent.

"The Advent season is a time of preparation that directs our hearts and minds to Christ's second coming at the
end of time and also to the anniversary of the Lords birth."

During this time of Advent we often think of our Blessed Mother and the Annunciation, the shepherds,
and yes even the wise men. But this year I would like to focus on Saint Joseph.

In his book "The Infancy Narratives" the third and final installment of his series "Jesus of Nazareth"
Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI says, "Where as the angel "came" to Mary (Lk 1:28) he merely appears to Joseph
in a dream - admittedly a dream that is real and reveals what is real. Once again this shows us an essential quality
of the figure of Saint Joseph: his capacity to perceive the divine and his ability to discern.
Only a man who is inwardly watchful for the divine, only someone with a real sensitivity for God and his ways,
can receive God's message in this way."

During this Advent we should make the time to grow in our spiritual life. Make the time to pray, read scripture,
visit the Adoration Chapel, celebrate the sacrament of Reconciliation, then like Saint Joseph you will set
the example for your family. But don't stop there, pray as a family, celebrate the December Feasts
(St. Nicholas on the 6th, the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary on the 8th, Our Lady of Guadalupe
on the 12th, Saint Lucy on the 13th), pray and light the Advent candles in your home. So that as the Prophet Isaiah
says "A voice cries, in the wilderness, prepare the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God."
you and your family will be ready to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior.

I wish you all the Joy and Blessings of this season.

Vivat Jesus
Your Grand Knight
Council 35

As Knights, we should all be thankful for being entrusted to do good and
charitable works for our church and community. I'm thankful for your presence
this past year. I'm thankful for your desire to be involved, and for your
perseverance to strive to make our council a better one.

Christmas Message 2025

As we close the calendar year 2025, i wish to take time to thank
all brother & Sir Knights that have been active in ourways
of giving back to our community through the parades,
Right to Life March in Hartford, aiding those with Itellectual Disabillities,
The Night of Honor for Deceased Brothers.
it is with all of us together that makes us stronger than
the individual and thus more successful.

I wish to tank everyone for a great first half of the fraternal year
and a continued success the second half.

ON BEHALF OF MY FAMILY AND MYSELF

WE WISH ALL A GLORIOUS AND MERRY CHRISTMAS

From The Pulpit

I am very happy to wish you all my Prayerful Greetings as we enter the Christmas Season.
The story of the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ is a reminder to us all that God came to live among us,
to be close to us, and to save us from our sins.
Jesus gave us himself as a gift to us. It is a story that still rings true today. Even in the midst of a pandemic where we
need to keep our distance from each other, Jesus is with us. He is close to us because he lives in our hearts where he continues
to be a gift to us. Jesus does not keep us at a distance from Him. Because of His presence in each one of us, we are
also present and connected to one another.

As we celebrate the Nativity of Jesus, we remain eternally grateful to God for all the blessings, especially for the gifts of life,
family, faith community, friends and neighbors. I take this opportunity to thank you most sincerely as you have been such a blessing
to our parish by being active and supporting us with your gifts of time, talents and timely financial help. My special gratitude
goes to all the volunteers in our different ministries who do such a wonderful job in serving the various needs of our parish
with much enthusiasm and commitment. I hope and pray that you will have a wonderful and blessed time during this Christmas Season.

May God bless you abundantly during this Christmas Season as well as during the New Year.

Merry Christmas!

Now let us pray for God's Blessings:

God, our Creator, we pray for joy in our hearts, hope in our God, love to forgive, and peace upon the earth.
We ask for the salvation of all our family members and friends, and we pray for your blessings on all people.

Lord, fill us with the wonder of Blessed Virgin Mary, the obedience of St. Joseph, the song and the joy of the angels, the eagerness
and gladness of the shepherds, the determination and the worship of the magi, and the peace of infant Jesus in the Manger.

I pray for all the families of our Parish, your loved ones, especially in this season of Christmas.

Almighty God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit bless you all now and forever.

Amen

With love and prayers,

Christmas Morning is the Most Appropriate
Time for Thoughts on the Nativity.

On all days and at all times, dearly beloved, does the birth of our Lord and Saviour from
the Virgin-mother occur to the thoughts of the faithful, who meditate on divine things,
that the mind may be aroused to the acknowledgment of its Maker, and whether it be occupied in
the groans of supplication, or in the shouting of praise, or in the offering of sacrifice,
may employ its spiritual insight on nothing more frequently and more
trustingly than on the fact that God the Son of God,

begotten of the co-eternal Father, was also born by a human birth. But this Nativity which is to be
adored in heaven and on earth is suggested to us by no day more than this when, with the early
light still shedding its rays on nature, there is borne in upon our senses the brightness of this
wondrous mystery. For the angel Gabriel's converse with the astonished Mary and her conception by
the Holy Ghost as wondrously promised as believed, seem to recur not only to the memory but to the
very eyes. For to day the Maker of the world was born of a Virgin's womb, and He, who made
all natures, became Son of her, whom He created.

To-day the Word of God appeared clothed in flesh, and That which had never been visible to human eyes
began to be tangible to our hands as well. Today the shepherds learnt from angels' voices that the
Saviour was born in the substance of our flesh and soul; and to-day the form of the Gospel message was
pre-arranged by the leaders of the Lord's flocks, so that we too may say with the arm),
of the heavenly host: "Glory in the highest to God, and on earth peace to men of good will."

Editors Message

Worthy Brothers, Family Members and Friends:

A warm thank you to Brother Knights and all the Knights of Columbus
volunteers for accomplishment you made look easy this 1st 6 months of the fraternal year
(last 6 months of 2025). Your dedication, careful planning, and cheerful service created a welcoming atmosphere
that brought our parish and community together and made the everything done more memorable for everyone.

As we move through December, we have several opportunities to keep that momentum going:
volunteers are needed for the monthly parish breakfast so please consider lending a hand
on December 14th which will offer another chance to serve and connect with parishioners in 2025;
our Annual kids Christmas Party will announced soon,

Advent is a season of preparation and presence, and the active participation of Knights of Columbus members
which makes that season richer for our parish. By serving at events, attending liturgies, and supporting
one another, we embody the spirit of Advent and bring Christ's light to our community.
Your involvement matters - thank you for all you do. May this Advent bring repentance and renewal,
and may your Christmas be full of joy.

he Third Week of Advent: The Shepherd's Candle Represents: Joy The Third Sunday is also called "Gaudete Sunday"
meaning rejoice or praise. We light the Rose Candle, Rose being the liturgical color for joy.
The Fourth Week of Advent: The Angel's Candle Represents: Love Liturgically we will not sing the Gloria.
At Saint Rose we will use "The Confiteor" (I Confess) as part of the Penitential Rite, as Advent is a Penitential Season,
not as severe as Lent but Penitential nonetheless. Speaking of Penance,
I encourage everyone to go to Confession during this Advent as we
eagerly await the coming of the Christ Child at Christmas.

Praying that all make time for Jesus to enter more fully into your life, and the life of those you love.

Have a Blessed Advent...

In Service to One ~ In Service to All

Vivat Jesus!

Sick & Distress

"Almighty God, we ask for Your help for our brothers and sisters who are ill.

Help us to be healing people in our time and place. May Your love touch others through us.

We ask that You watch over those who are suffering, give them comfort and peace,
and restore them to health. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen."
